IKEA FAM

Linyuzi Zhang (China)

Sofie Woge (Sweden)

Philip Bergström (Sweden)

Bringing friends, family and professional chefs into your kitchen

The IKEA Fam unit is a platform that provides a shared cooking experience, connecting people in different locations by using hologram technology to display each other’s images in their respective kitchens.  The unit offers personal, professional cooking classes in the comfort of users’ own home, at a time of their choosing. Scales and thermometers on the unit help with ingredient measurement and temperature control, while cameras help users to accurately follow recipes by showing what type of food is being cooked and the amount that is being used.
