A modular frame system to create or hack kitchens to fit your personal needs
We recognised a growing trend that, in general, people want to modify products to make them unique to their own needs and desires. They aspire to be more creative, individual and free in the choices they make. A growing number of ‘ordinary consumers’ will no longer be satisfied with existing IKEA solutions, but rather want to create their own kitchens. IKEA Hacka is a system intended to bridge the gap between the hacking movement and the current modular kitchen systems. It consists of wooden beams that can be cut to any length, as well as a variety of joints that can be used in a number of ways to piece together the beams. These parts make it easier to modify a kitchen, combining items from IKEA with third-party and/or self-made products.
